Privacy Policy
Ristra is a shared shopping list for households. This policy describes what Ristra collects, why, and what happens to it. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we show no ads, we don't track you across other apps or sites, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, a display name, and an account identifier, used to sign you in and to show household members who added or checked off an item. You can sign in with Apple, which shares only what you approve.
- Your lists — the items, stores, and department orders you and your household create. That's the product; it's stored so it can sync to everyone in your household in real time.
- Product photos — if you use photo entry, the photo you take is uploaded and analyzed to fill in the item's name, brand, and size.
- Location, per request — if you use nearby-store search, your coordinates are sent with that one search to find stores around you. Your location is not stored and is never collected in the background.
Who processes it
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, file storage, and push notifications. Your account and list data live here.
- Anthropic — product photos are analyzed by Anthropic's Claude API to extract the item's details.
- Google Places — powers nearby-store search when you ask for it.
These providers process data on Ristra's behalf to deliver the features above — not for advertising.
What we never do
- No ads, and no advertising identifiers.
- No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
- No selling or renting your data. Ever.
Sharing within your household
Ristra is a shared app: items you add, along with your display name, are visible to the other members of your household list. Items you've contributed to a shared list remain part of that list for its members even if you later leave it.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account any time in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. That removes your sign-in and personal details. If something doesn't work, email us and we'll take care of it.
Children
Ristra is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll note it here with a new effective date.
